Tolson Sparks Hampton to 83-72 Win Over Howard

Christopher Tolson came off the bench to score 20 points as Hampton overcame a sluggish second half to post an 83-72 victory over Howard on Thursday night, wrapping up second place in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
Tolson came into the game averaging just 3.2 points per game, but was 7 of 10 from the floor and 4 of 7 from 3-point range to spark the Pirates (21-8, 11-5).

Norfolk State Clips North Carolina A&T 75-57

Kyle O'Quinn scored 18 points and grabbed 14 rebounds as Norfolk State defeated North Carolina A&T 75-57 Thursday night in the regular-season finale for both teams.
O'Quinn also had five of Norfolk State's seven blocked shots as the Spartans held North Carolina A&T to 28.4-percent shooting from the field (19 of 67) and ended the Aggies' three-game winning streak.

MTSU to Play in Tournament After Player's Death

The Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders have decided they will play in the Sun Belt Conference tournament days after their teammate was stabbed to death.
The Blue Raiders met Thursday with athletic director Chris Massaro and coach Rick Insell before agreeing to play. Junior guard Tina Stewart, 21, of Memphis was stabbed to death Wednesday night, and her roommate, Shanterrica Madden, 18, has been charged with first-degree murder.
